The fundamental component of Colvita is lyophilized collagen hydrate derived from fresh water fish skin. One capsule of Colvita supplement contains 0.2 g of powder, which includes all the building blocks of collagen molecules. With regular supplementation, it is an entirely sufficient dose to make up for the occurring shortages of collagen therefore stimulating the processes of cell reconstruction and boosting the process of collagen biosynthesis.
Colvita supplement contains collagen from warm fresh water fish. Only fish have a semblance of the immune system, however it will never transmit disease to humans. Collagen in fish skin, obtained at the molecular stage (helical) is the same as in more developed vertebrates and is completely safe for humans.
Colvita is also enriched with tocotrienols (a form of vitamin E), to protect the genetic code of DNA skin cells.
Viitamine E isoforms: δ-tocotrienol and γ-tocotrienol. Tocotrienols are characterised by resistance to oxygen, UV rays and many other degradative factors and they are 100% biologically active. In addition, tocotrienol has been suggested to have anti-ageing action, anti-diabetic and anti-tumor effects indicating, that tocotrienol may serve as an effective agent in the prevention and/or treatment of cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Colvita also contains a powder derived from micronization of conceptacles (oogonia and antheridia) of the algae species – Fucus vesiculosus. These bladder wracks are a phenomenon of nature – a kind of bridge between biotope and biocoenosis. They possess an extraordinary ability to collect virtually all trace elements and minerals found in seawater, and most importantly the most valuable trace elements with a high level of bioavailability. The excellent nutritional content of the algae is all plant components removing only sodium chloride (salt). Fucus vesiculosus particularly from the North Atlantic are not subjected to extreme temperatures constitute a treasure of valuable nutrients rarely found in nature. The powder of these algae is a supplementation bombshell. It is rich in calcium, copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, potassium, selenium, phosphorus, chromium, and zinc, both organic (diiodotyrosine) as well as inorganic.
